I got a cut from this plant and put it in water in hopes of getting roots from the brownish part. Will I? How long will it take? It's not dying but it's not giving me roots yet although it's only been a week.

    Thanks!

Looks to be some kind of Philodendron... They will sometimes root out in water.

Yay! How long has it been, 4 weeks already? Well I'm getting some pretty good root growth and it looks like this thing could just live in water for all it cares! :)

How long do the roots have to be before I can plant it? They're about 2 inches long right now and there are 3 strands of them coming from the same "node" on the stem.
    Thanks!

You're cuttings are ready to plant. Take care with the new roots, they are tender and may break easily.
