Hello, Two days ago I watered this plant and today I noticed this. Can anyone tell me what it is and why it is now in the soil of my plant?
It's a mushroom growing in your pot. Your lipstick vine seems happy so I don't see any harm. Not uncommon.
Thank you for responding. Why and How does a mushroom just suddenly start growing in my plant! Also, what is the lipstick vine? Thank You
As for the mushrooms, read this post: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=17336 Looks like you have those in an early stage in the photo, probably more developed now. I think globalist1789 meant the plant, but I don't think it is that. The leaves look like it initially, until you notice they are palmate. Looks like a schefflera.
http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Leucocoprinus_birnbaumii.html Looks like your Schefflera arboricola is too damp and may not be getting enough light. The Mushroom probably came with the plant and is just now fruiting. HTH Chris
Thank you everyone for your help! I have had the plant for over 6 years and have never had this problem. I'm wondering if it came in the new soil I used to transplant. Although it is not showing up in the other plants I transplanted at the same time, with the same soil. Thank you again, everyone!
