I got this a couple years ago and was told it is algerian ivy. I looked that up and it is definitely incorrect. It is a very slow grower, has hardly grown in the time I've had it, in fact. It just produced this interesting flower. It seems to be pretty happy, but I'd love to know what it is so I can make sure I'm doing whats best. Thanks in advance for help!
Oh you are so lucky to have it bloom .. ive been waiting for mine to bloom for a long time .. keep up the good work .. Marion
Thank you for all the nice replies. I knew I had seen a picture of that flower somewhere, but could not recall where or what it was! I wasn't even thinking of a Hoya because of the curly leaves. I keep it by a window with strong direct light, and keep it moist. It is in a pot that is very tightly fitting, but I just read today that they seem to like that. Other than that I periodically mist it, and live in Virginia where it is very humid anyways. I've had it about two or three years, but this is the first time it has bloomed. Thanks again!
Another point, when the flowers finish, don't cut off the peduncle (the stalk the flowers were attached too) as this will flower again, indeed, the tip has the ability to continue to produce a succession of flowers so just leave it/them alone to flower again.
