We've had this plant for years and its got bigger and bigger, it's always done well standing on the floor in a sunny room. Now we have a toddler the only place i can put it where he can't get to it is on the kitchen side because of it's size, and it doesn't seem to be doing very well. I would like to know if I could prune it back,or divide it into smaller plants that will fit on windowsills, but as i don't know what the plant is called i can't find out, can someone please advise me?
Looks like Dracaena marginata, Madagascar Dragon Tree. It is possible to cut it back and use the cuttings to start new plants: Dracaena Production Guide.
