Can someone please identify this flower for me? I have ONE in the whole yard. I dug it up last fall and moved it to a different location and it came up again. It takes about two weeks for it to open completely. It has a small bulb at the root. It is a pretty shade of purple. Everyone I've shown it to up here have no idea what it is.
It is one of the ornamental Alliums. Possibly Allium cristophii. Common name ornamental onion. http://www.robsplants.com/plants/AlliuCrist.php
