I had this Hoya for 10-15 years. I tried and failed a little during the years, but now I know what it likes. 1. Lots of ligth but it also needs some shadow during the summer day. 2. I water only once every week as a rule. During the winter I may skip a week if the soil is not completely DRY. If there are buds on the plant it must not be completely dry for several days or it will drop the buds. 3. I almost never gives it nutrition. By following these steps it starts blooming in february/march and do so about 3-5 times until the autumn. My hoya just started to bloom (still winter and lots of snow). The pictures are from today. My question is: What is the exact name for this Hoya? Should I do anything different in caring for my Hoya?
I found a page which shows the same leaves as my plant. The exact name is unknown, but I belive it is a Carnosa type. http://magdoch.free.fr/hoya_carnosaunknown2.htm
Nice plant, and it is however the fist time I've ever seen a metric tape measure. Is the fragrance of your Hoya overpowering? I had to move mine out of the house. The smell was far too much for me to bare.
There is some fragnance and it increases when the humidity is increasing. In dry weather there are almost no scent. Some of my visitors comment on the fragnance :-)
