What is happening to this Maple

Not sure if I'm in the correct area for this question. Friend of mine has a Maple that has not been planted yet, it's still in the pot. The leaves are starting to get white spots and dry tips. Does anyone know what is going on with this tree?

 

Looks a bit like sunburn on your friend's Japanese Maple.

 

Nothing to worry about then?

 

Well, not really but try to give it a little more shade & maybe reconsider its permanent site if required.
