How very quickly the autumn colours change. These 2 pics of Acer palmatum Koto-no-ito were taken on the 4th and 7th November.
Pretty nice, Luddite. Excellent healty specimen. How old is it? In the first pic, which cultivar is located in the left side of the KNI? Nelran
Glad you liked it nelran. It was planted in September 1995. To the left of it, in both pics, is Acer palmatum Trompenburg.
Beautiful Luddite, Great plants, excellent photos too. Love 'Trompenberg' I've killed 3 or 4 'Green Trompenberg' over the years.
Nice combination, indeed. So I have to wait at less 15 years to see something like this in my garden.. (ahhh lot of patience) Thank you Luddite, for share with us your nice plants. This year I got an small graft of green Trompenburg so I hope to have better luck than Poetry. I already killed two this year: a 'Fairy Hair' and a A.S. '6910 holland'. I replace the first one, so next year probably will order other '6910'. Regards, Nelran
Luddite, what's the exposition of your KNI? I've got just gotten a pretty big one in a large tub, wondering if it will take a little sun... Thanks for the great pics. -E
emery, it is in a very sheltered position,in dappled shade. In the autumn, as the angle of the sun changes, it is at its best with late afternoon sun on it. ( More torrential rain and gales that we have had since taking these pics will have spoilt it for this year) Luddite
This is a picture of Acer palmatum "Trompenburg", next to the Acer palmatum "Koto-no-ito". Pics taken 4th November.
Wow, you have a real forest there! They're in full splendor. For me, the most amazing thing about them is that they don't have even a single leave with burn tips! Even my best performers here show some degree of leave's damage. Perfect spot Luddite! Regards, Nelran
Nelran, bear in mind that we don't get the heat that you do in summer. This year it feels as we haven't even seen much of the sun at all!! Luddite.
