Does anyone know what has happened to the pin oak tree atop the building on Beach Avenue and Guilford (Eugenia Place - 1919 Beach Ave)? I live near this iconic West End building and have watched the tree go through its seasonal cycles for years and it appears to not be doing well this summer.
you mean the one next to (near) the Sylvia Hotel? It always amazed me that there was a tree up there! it sure was much smaller way back when (late 1980s? Early 90's? was it installed) - perhaps it has run its course - I can't imagine that it enjoys being planted up there in a big container. now the fun part - how to remove it!
