Hello! I have a Weeping Willow which is just over 2 years old; it growing rapidly and stand about 10ft however; I’ve noticed that the branches are not hanging like a typical Willow. Do I need to prune it for it to start hanging? Donovan
If whole thing is completely upright have wrong item. If instead merely arching probably needs more time to develop curtains of drooping shoots you are expecting. Young trees do not have as much mass as mature ones.
Thanks Ron. I also have a second Willow that is a year older, however not as developed as the two year old tree and it is hanging nicely. Maybe it's growing too fast?
Hi Jimmy, The leaves are rather straight. What is the difference between the Weeping Willow and the other you mentioned?

Weeping willow is any pendulous willow. There is more than one kind, including unintentional hybrids. A "Salix babylonica" purchased from a cold climate supplier is likely to one of these.
