I've planted a 7 ft Tilia cordata Mar 25/08. I live in Fraser Valley east. How much water do I give the tree and do I water it every day? My soil is a good mixture of clay and sand....that is, beyond the prepared soil around the fibre potted tree. Thank you in advance.

If you amended the planting hole backfill that was a mistake that may make it more difficult to keep the tree moist. Water often enough and with enough volume to keep the soil inside the original soil ball as well as the backfill moist. This varies with climate, soil and weather, you will have to learn what it takes to keep this specimen moist on your site on your own. Poke around in the soil with your finger or a tool if you have to, to keep track of the moisture level.

If this tree has not been mulched that should be done, unlike amending of planting hole backfill this is quite beneficial and should always be done.

If the fiber pot or any other foreign material such as twine or burlap was planted with the tree that needs to be removed. Dig the tree back up and take those away.
