    Hello,
I am new to the forum and have a very pesky problem. There is a large and very active wasp nest in my lilac shrubs. These wasps are quite aggressive, so I'm not able to even see exactly where the nest is. I am only aware of controlling wasps by spraying the opening of the nest. Since I can't see the nest, let alone the opening, how can I get rid of the wasps? Thanks.

This sounds like a scenario where I'd call in for a professional. Let them take the risk.

Pretty easy, wait till after dark on a coll (cold) night. Wasps will be in their paper nest. Cover nest with plactic garbage bag and cut branch. A knot and wasp are enclosed. You could also using the foaming wasp spray just prior to the bag.
