I have an early jiro persimmon, planted as bare root last March. It failed to break dormancy last year, but a year later still has healthy cambium right to the tips. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon (with any sort of bare root stock)? Other stock from the same supplier broke dormancy last season, so the issue is particular to this one tree.
