I understand that there are different varieties of the Oyama Magnolia, and there is one called the Colossus that is relatively new. Also some of flowers have redder ?stamens? while other types have a pinkish color. I am looking for the type that has the redder/darker stamen. Does anyone know the name of this particular Oyama Magnolia? I am hoping to plant it close to the fence to cover up my neighbour's shed with a whirly bird on it, so about 8 feet tall. How fast will the Oyama grow?
