Can you help me identify this most unusual possible fungi. It was found in northern BC rockies near a lake called Trappers Lake near Moberly lake. Two pictures. It looks like a stick and is around a meter long. Smells organic and has a flesh like texture inside. Out side looks like a wood/wormy thing with suction cups.
Second pic? What sort of trees / shrubs are in the area? At first glance, does appear to be a fungal infection inducing galls, but it might be helpful to narrow down the scope of the possible host plants.
