I was checking on an Ash tree I have in a pot, training for bonsai when I saw a tiny green shoot in the soil. I thought it was a weed and nearly pulled it out. Turns out its a conifer seedling! No idea what type, its too small to tell but probably a Cypress from a neighbours tree.

Only thing is Im a bit concerned about overwintering it as I have no greenhouse!

    Yep, Lawson's Cypress seedling.

Doesn't need a greenhouse, it is fully winter hardy. Your main problem is that its root system will already be tangled up with that of the Ash; it'll be nearly impossible to separate the two. The sooner you try, the better. Then pot it up in a pot of its own, with a well-drained sandy soil mix.
