Hello everyone! My mother left us with this very unique and sturdy looking indoor houseplant that my father and I (both Brown Thumb people) are befuddled as to what kind of plant it is! Resembling a palm tree almost, the base grows upward and the "branches" become light tan in color and tend to die off and shed to make way for a newer brown colored underneath branch layer. The "leaves" are quite thick and fall downward to a pointed end. Any information would be appreciated & thanks in advance! Kat
Yucca guatemalensis (Syn. elephantipes), though a rather light starved version. Indoors it should resemble this: http://www.plantoftheweek.org/week188.shtml Here's one outside (in the sub-tropics) http://www.flickr.com/photos/tony_rodd/3155149634/
