I bought some kumquats the other day and I'm curious what kind they are (I'm assuming Nagimi because they are slightly oblong...). Also, I've been debating about planting them and trying them indoors. Any suggestions and information about these little guys would be very welcome (If memory serves they grow slowly and hate getting pot bound??). I also picked up some key limes so I think I'll give them another shot--they take two to three years indoors to reach maturity if you're lucky correct?

    Thank you,

    Ryan

That is not Nagami-- it looks more like Miewa. Miewa is much sweeter than Nagami. There are a few other varieties, but they are not very common.

From what I have read, Kumquats (for some reason) do not grow well on their own roots.
You could likely find entire fruiting plants for around $35 for the Kumquats and $25 for the key limes. I have only kumquat cross breeds (growing outside)
