Hi, I bought a Japanese Red Maple from a wholesale planter and I didn't get the name of it. I have come home and found there to be several differnet types. I can't tell if it's a crimson queen or a Acer palmatum 'Toyama nishiki'. If I send you a picture of it, will you tell me what kind it is? Also, on the bark...it looks to be green in some areas and almost a blue. What's that about???
Post some photos. Even a thorough description isn't really enough to ID. Using photos some of us will at least have an idea....not that I know anything... :-) Take some closeups of single leaves, a group of leaves on a branch, some branches, and if possible the whole tree. Layne
