It is easy to grow in warm moist tropical conditions, such as in Darwin NT Australia. I started with a small piece about the size of a little finger and now after three years have kilos of the root. During the dormancy period the leaves dry and they need to be removed, the roots carefully lifted and replanted. It will not grow in cold weather and "hibernates". You will need a good organic rich potting mixture and keep the pot moist during the growing season.
