My daughter's boyfriend was mowing the lawn and mowed down our pretty tulip tree. Will it grow back or is it gone forever? Please respond as I loved this tree and would like to transplant it so this does not happen again.
Assuming it is a young plant, it should sprout from the base. Clear the grass away from it in a one metre radius circle, and put a set of three solid stakes round it, to protect it from further mower damage.
