Trimming this tree?

    I have this tree in my yard, I am not sure of what type it is, I assume a type of maple. The tree is about three years old, and around 9 feet tall. The problem is that the tree is turning into a giant bush! (See photos). Should I trim the tree? If so, which branches? When Should I trim the tree?

    Any info about trimming this tree is appreciated! I live in zone 9.

    Looks like a white mulberry. Not a good location in the bed for a deciduous tree. I'd remove it.
