Hi...My husband and I purchased a home in the mountains and there is a tree with fruit that we cannot identify. The fruit actually looks like starfruit with fuzz, which seems impossible as the area gets snow and sits at 5100 feet.
I am attaching pictures to help with the identification. I am hoping it's a quince...but have no clue as to what it could be. The flowers on the tree are a golden yellow.
    Thank you!

Kind of exciting to happen to have one of these growing wild on your place. But beware of the irritating hairs it is covered with.

Mine was nicely packed with flowers this year. The one sold here is the garden selection 'California Glory'.
