Tree disease

    The three pictures all show the same tree which is covered with the mould disease shown - smaller branches not covered in the white mould appear to have turned grey.
    Looking at the tree there appears to be no insects/mites living on the few leaves that do remain. The trunk is the only part that seems clean.
    The tree appears to be a cherry tree.
    No other trees nearby are infected.
    The tree looks about 15 years old and has been grafted onto a rootstock.
    The tree is in Kent, England UK in a sheltered courtyard type of location.
    Can anyone identify this mould type disease please?

    Probably woolly aphids.

    Ditto to woolly aphids. The tree looks like an apple to me.
