A while back we were given a slightly sprouted seed potato to plant in a pot as part of the year of the potato celebrations. I am excited by the idea but unfortunately I misplaced the potato and it never got planted. Is it too late to plant it, or other seed potatoes? The instructions said to let it grow a bit, cover with 2" dirt and keep repeating till the pot is full. How much soil should be in the bottom of the pot below the potato?
