I bought a banana plant about 6 weeks ago but kept it in the pot. It is about 1 1/2' tall. I would like to plant it now (I live in Chilliwack) but is it too late and what kind of soil should I use?
Might be OK to plant a Musa basjoo now if you get a mild winter, but would probably be better to overwinter it under cover and plant next spring, after it warms up. A less cold-tolerant banana I would definitely not plant out in fall.
