    Dear All,

I just discovered that I have cherry tomatoes and bittersweet nightshade in the same container (with more tomato plants a few feet away). Both are fruiting at this point. Should I worry about cross-pollination? I already googled, but most of what I found looks like best guesses / anecdotal evidence by non-professionals... I would greatly appreciate a botanist's response because we have little kids and because the two plants are so closely related. Thanks a lot!!

Just snip out the Bittersweet. It won't hybridise with the Tomato, but the Bittersweet's own fruit is slightly poisonous, and not good for the kids to risk eating.
