We've been in the high 80's for a few weeks, but, tomorrow the high is forecasted to be a chilly 63. Then just low 70's for the coming week. Blackberry winter, we call this. My okra that just sprouted yesterday will probably go dormant for the next week and not grow a bit. After this week though we'll get back to upper 80's and 90's and then those sprouts will really take off!
Yesterday it snowed and went down to -6 C. A couple of day before that it rained about 3 inches. There are puddles everywhere and I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get into the main garden. Fortunately, I have almost finished making some raised beds and if it ever gets warm, I will be able to at least get something planted in them. Where is summer! It's the May long weekend and I should be planting things and all I have planted so far is a few peas and some lettuce. I thought I saw a couple of pea sprouts today so maybe there is hope yet. :)
14 C right now (9 a.m.), should get to about 19 C according to the weather office prediction (but it is always a few degrees cooler than predicted). Should not rain again for another day or two.
38C right now (11am) and going to about 42 C according to the airport weather folks. I can see the thunderstorm we'll get this evening coming in off the south plains.
My computer reads 54 F with clouds rolling in off the Straigts of San Juan De Fuca. It's supposed to rain tomorrow Tuesday. That's fine as I have Jury Duty.....barb Correction 6:20 pm. Still 54F and raining already.
Heavy frost last night 17/18 May. Took out my cucumbers, and damaged some of the potatoes that were up. Temperature now 10 C and falling. some more frost is expected tonight.
Durgan, it looks like the cold weather we had last week came your way. I am hoping for warm weather soon.
