tent caterpillars on crab apple trees

I used to use Cygon 2e on my crab apple tree to control tent caterpillars. Any suggestions on other ways to control the caterpillars.

I used about 2 tbs of Dawn dish washing liquid in a sprayer with water...sprayed the nests and the next day I had no more problems I had used everything until that point and my great grandmother told me to do that and ....it worked good luck
