Alas ! The mother-tree died. It hadn't been repotted for years, and the roots made a cork trhrough the three holes of the pot. When I finally took it from the pot, water flowed from the bottom. The roots were dead. The tree is dead. I gathered samaras, and planted them. The "children" are all different, of course, and that's something I like ! The first one is very similar to the late mother-plant : This one is rather weak : N° 3 (#3 in English) N°4 : N°5 : N° 6 : N° 7 : N°8 : N°9 : N° 10 : I hope that out of ten, at least 5 will thrive...
Woww..what great, healthy looking offspring and all so different!! How many years old are those seedlings?
They are twice the size of my 3yr olds..mine are nearly pencil thick, not quite..but short..I’ve added no fertiliser..should I have ?
Those are all nice! Sorry the mother passed, though. I have a bad record with diseected seedlings, I hope you do better! My old friend Bill worked with a band called "5 guys named Jeff." It was a quartet. Not a Jeff among 'em.
@dicky5ash I have some seedlings from seeds you sent me, they're not as fast-growing, but they're healthy. I will take some pics later.
Super, looking forward to seeing a photo :) re slow growing there seems to be a reoccurring theme with me being involved lol you know where I sourced them #top-pedigree!!
