Figure 1: What is this succulent, the greener one? Someone told me it's Aeonium haworthii, but I thought the blueish one on the upper left corner is Aeonium haworthii. Figures 2 and 3: Are both Aeonium arboreum Zwartkop? THe shapes of the leaves are so different, and fig.2 is much flatter than fig.3. They both turn very purple under the sun. Figures 4 and 5: Is this Aloe juvenna, or Aloe nobilis? Same thing or different? Thanks.
Most of your plants are garden hybrids. #1 is Aeonium hybridum (A. simsii X A. spathulatum). #2 is an Aeonium hybrid between A.arboreum 'Zwartkop' and A.tabuliforme. #3 is Aeonium arboreum 'Zwartkop' #4-5 is an Aloe hybrid
Thank you, Steve. What about the green succulent on the left? http://picasaweb.google.com/Jorielle/Gardening?authkey=9fVqoN8P5Y8#5246467581744796146
No Ed. The one on the left in the link is Aeonium 'Pseudotabuliforme' (A. arboreum X A. canariense). Despite the name, there is no A. tabuliforme in its parentage. The plant in the middle is a variegated Portulacaria afra. The cultivar name 'Zwartkop' does not end in an "f". The cultivar and its name is of Dutch origin (not German).
I believe #3 is Aeonium arboreum 'Atropurpureum'. None of my A. a. 'Zwartkop' ever get that green (just a little toward the center-but mostly dark).
Oh, you are probably right. It used to be totally green, and then the ones near the sun turned purple. http://picasaweb.google.com/Jorielle/Gardening?authkey=9fVqoN8P5Y8#5246668321923562386 http://picasaweb.google.com/Jorielle/Gardening?authkey=9fVqoN8P5Y8#5246668345075718386 Another view of #3 is in the picture link, on the right. http://picasaweb.google.com/Jorielle/Gardening?authkey=9fVqoN8P5Y8#5246467581744796146
