Sango kaku x2 and Eddisbury x2, the latter is consistently earlier here: Trompenburg x2 and a dark volunteer that is likely related x2: Orido nishiki and azalea x2, Shishigashira in front of Katsura, Orange Dream:
We lost our Eddisbury in the drought, following yet more frost damage thanks to its early start. "Dark Volunteer" is an excellent name for a selection! :) It looks great too, more interesting early than 'Trompenburg'

Flavescens / Rainbow (x2) / (Peve) Starfish / Como / Beni hagoromo / Koto-no-Ito / a seedling, I hope the colours will stay through the years. I also like the shape of the leaves :
Gah. I usually check his stock, but I missed this one. Mine is barely hanging in there, the graft/understock is very poor. Glad you got one though, it's a "holy grail" maple, lol.
I know that feeling. These uncommon cultivars sometimes pop in the catalog with a few units available, and usually they're sold out in the blink of an eye. That's a pity, especially for a cultivar like this, let's hope it will manage to get better. Thanks! I didn't know it could carry such an honorific, lol.

A few others. Acer discolor : Acer shirasawanum 'Autumn Moon'. The lower (young) branches display the brown-orange colour it had when I bought it. Now it's much bigger, and full of flowers. The leaves on the upper branches bearing them are not as colourful : A few seedlings. The first one is, I think, Acer pseudosieboldianum ssp. takesimense. It's fast-growing, it germinated in 2020 or 2021 : This one must be Acer sinense (I have a couple of others that are identified) : Acer oliverianum, Acer serrulatum, other ?... I dinna ken! ;°) I love the fresh leaves of this palm/oenum. Nothing spectacular in summer, but I find the red nails on the lobes very elegant... Another seedling that turns bronze green in summer. Today, it looks very similar to my ''Redwine'. The branches are slightly weeping.
So glad to be back on the site!!! Horribly wet cool weather in New Westminster BC Canada. Here is a few. Katsura Orange dream Sangu Kaku Katsura Rescue tree acer Japconican Katsura again
So having looked again at the bonsai 'suspected' Katsura, I'm leaning more towards it being Orange Dream because of the leaf shape and having 7 lobes?! I left the cold frame lids open over the weekend when we had a bit of a temperature drop and high winds. Both of my Uncle Ghost got completely shrivelled to the extent there is only about 2 leaves left, but I'm hoping it'll push one or two buds that didn't yet open. It's also sod's law that I didn't bother grabbing another one from Hippo last weekend before they all sold out! My Sister ghost also got damaged, one quite severely as you can just about make out slightly blurry, the one at the front isn't too bad but I hope it doesn't get any worse. Patricia - named after Pat at Hippo and is a slightly more yellow in summer Osakazuki type, seems fairly vigorous I still can't believe how many flowers I've got on all my trees this spring, it's crazy!! Beni Hagoromo Metamorphosa
@Cattwooduk those leaves look exactly right shape for Orange Dream to me. Seven strong lobes and flattish leaf base. Katsura has more of a classic small leaved palmatum look. Onto some pictures from today, Wou nishiki: Not sure if this tree is a species or hybrid, but one of my favourites, from seed:

Thought I would add a photo of this rather famous pseudoplatanus tree I took a few days ago (18th April 2023). It was very windy, but the sky was such a perfect blue and the fluffy white clouds added to the beauty of this 300 year old tree. Anybody know where I was??
