we have bought an orchard in Sicily, this year in march, having had the best of the orange crop! now this year already the oranges are turning from green, many are now on the floor, and we have a lot of split fruit on the trees!
my question is why? As we are new to this! naturally we have had a very dry summer, and it appears the way to watering the trees is by flooding the orchard, which was done in June and July!
Could this problem be due to a lack of water despite the flooding?
Any help or advice would be very appreciated!
