Hi, I have a potted Daphne plant that is having a spider mite problem. I was spraying it down with tap water, and that seemd to help a little bit, but they just won't go away. It has been very dry here lately, and I'm sure that's not helping. Anyone have suggestopns for better handling of the spider mite problem? Thanks, DeeAnn Gillispie
You can buy Safer's Soap Spray at a garden centre, or you can mix 1-2 drops of dish detergent with a litre of water & a drop of cooking oil. Spray it all over the plant (not the soil) front and back and then rinse off after 5 mins. Do it again in 5 days and again 5 days later (to get any eggs). And keep the plant away from others and raise the humidity in the room (which does not mean overwatering the soil otherwise).
