    Hi,
I recently got a new house cat and he's been sampling the vegetation. Something seems to be making him a little sick and I'm trying to narrow it down so I don't have to lock up all my plants. Does anyone know what kind of plant this is, or whether it might be poisonous to cats? (In the meantime, I got him some tasty catnip)
    Thanks for any help!

    Jenn

    looks like an aloe.

please list the plants you have...we'll be able to tell you which ones could be causing a problem for kitty

Thanks everyone! I couldn't find anything indicating that this plant was poisonous, but the cat has decided to leave it alone in favor of the catnip and seems to be doing better. Incidentally, a Christmas cactus made a previous cat of mine sick for years, so many trips to the vet - we couldn't figure out what it was, then I ended up giving the plant to a roommate who was moving away. In two weeks, the cat was better and didn't have any more problems. Christmas cactus also wasn't on the lists of common poison houseplants that I found, unless it's often known by another name?
