I need some help to know what to do with several shrubs which look very dead due to the snow we had. These are large shrubs like a Heibe and a Weiglia that have many dead looking brown branches and leaves with a few live ones near the ground. Should I prune all the dead branches back or leave them? Thanks

I would wait a few more weeks, as the weather warms up... and then your plants will clearly indicate any new growth and also the extent of this past winters carnage. You are so not alone ....

Hebe would have frozen due to cold, weigela is hardy and deciduous - all the leaves should die every year.

What do I do with bent arbovitae branches? Is it better to cut them off or try to raise them with a string or rope or something? Is it better to use wire?
