I have found a poor yucca plant lying in the street which looked as if it had been thrown off a balcony. I couldn't leave this poor plant where it was so I left it in a park for 2 days hoping someone would see it and replant it. Sadly when I went back two days later it was still there looking ill and dying so I decided the honorouble thing to do would be to take it home and nurse it back to health. I'll get to the point, it's not very well at all and I really want to make it better again. Would you have any advice? The leaves have gone yellow in parts and brown in others, the roots are still intact and the base seem ok. One of the branches on one side seems badly damaged (possibly where it fell). It is in a bad way basically, but with some nurturing I am sure I can cure it. Do you have any advice? I haven't potted it yet, I have just minimally watered it and it is sat in a dish until I figure out what is best for it. I would really appreciate some advice Thanks, Rachel
trim off the bad spots on the leaves and then plant it in the ground (or another pot) and water it regularly and it'll most probably get better. it may take a while, it'll come back, tho! they're pretty darn hardy!
The yucca in our lane garden is impossible to kill. The root/storage stem keeps sending up shoots. You should have no trouble reviving the yucca you rescued.
