Hi my mom got a cherry blossom tree this summer, but the leaves aren't doing so good. Anyone know what's wrong and how to save it?

@Adrian Lam good morning Adrian and welcome to the forum. IMO your mums tree has leaf scorch that the Prunus can be affected by. Now although unsightly now, as long as the leaves are all removed from the tree this Winter, collected and burned it should be fine next year.
The fungal pathogen stays in the leaves that don't drop and re-infects next years new leaves.
No spraying etc will control this btw.
So my advice is to ensure a good clean up of the leaves and removing them from all branches.
Do have a look at this link it might help
