I need advice about a 40 ft blue spruce tree. This tree is in front of my house, and I really don't know how old it is except that the house is about 70 years old and the spruce was probably planted when the house was built. However, recently the tree has begun losing its bark in ways that are definitely not normal. Its sister tree, 10 or so feet away from it, is not havin this trouble. The local arbolist says he has never seen this before, and he says the tree looks "bruised." He recommends removing it. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Thank you Jane wohl
