The property we moved to 6 years ago on Salt Spring Island has, among many others, more than 50 quince trees in the established orchard.
Last season, about 15% of our trees had fruit which was badly cracked and disfigured with black scabs of some sort. The leaves looked (mostly) healthy, but the entire tree's crop was ruined.
Several people have suggested it could be fire blight, but I don't find any images on-line of anything that looks quite like this does.
It was suggested that I should spray a lime sulphur and mineral oil treatment, but I am concerned that this could have a negative impact on our honey bees.
Any help in identifying the issue and possible solutions would be most appreciated.

I'm not familiar with scab on quince, but spraying lime sulphur during the dormant season should not have any impact on bees.
