Good day everyone - I believe this tree is a Sequoia and in the last few weeks some of the needles are starting to brown. I live in Vancouver, bc and we have had an extremely hot summer, however we have been watering it.

This spring we removed all the decay from off the ground around it. Could that have something to do with it? Worried about it, its a very large tree and very beautiful.

    Any help is appreciated.

May be fungal blight caused by Cercospora or Kabatina, but hard to tell without larger pics. Look to see if there are small black spots on the dead foliage.
