The post below was made in 2010 regarding seeds we own that came directly from Carl Linnaeus' botanical garden in Upsala Sweden. With all the urgency created by Monsanto and GMO foods, we are considering trying to germinate these seeds in the future when non- GMO seeds are no longer available. We are reposting this thread as to seek more information that may have been discovered regarding germinating older seeds. The below thread is quite interesting, but may be dated in advice regarding our seeds. There are pictures further down the thread. I will move them up to a new post for your convenience.

We have decided to research and attempt to germinate some of our seeds. We are still researching the process. We will update you on our progress. How amazing to germinate seeds placed in a vial from Carl Von Linnaeus garden in Upsala Sweden! Very Very exciting for us and the horticulture world. If anyone has any advice on germinating very old seeds, it would be greatly appreciated!
