Identification: Sciadopitys verticillata

    This is a tree in my friend's garden. It looks like a Sciadopitys verticillata but I thought the needles looked slightly different but I thought there was only one species in the Sciadopitys genus. Does it look like a Sciadopitys verticillata to anyone? See two photos.

    Thanks for any help with ID.
