I have two 6-ft schefleras, that were covered by snow in a sudden snowfall over a month ago. Their leaves got brown and fell and I'm now looking to semi-dry, naked, unattractive branches. Is there any way the plants could be saved, even if they have to be pruned dramatically?

It'll be a matter of wait-and-see. If they're still alive, you'll get new growth in spring, from the highest points on the plants to have survived the cold. Give them at least 2 months before getting rid of them, as regrowth may be slow to appear.
