I am on the east coast and had hurricane sandy ruin my 100' of arborvities, (and my house). What should I try that will grow tall for privacy, but will not be affected by salt water? Many plants were fine and came back. I prefer something green all year. I thought of bamboo but hear a lot of horror stories about them spreading like crazy. Thanks

Maybe something native to local coastal environments.

    False cypress Chamaecyparis pisifera
    Littleleaf boxwood Buxus microphylla
    some Ilex species (I. cornuta I. crenata I. glabra I. vomitoria )
some Juniperus species (J. chinensis J. communis J. conferta )
    Mugo Pine Pinus mugo
English Yew Taxus baccata, Japanese Yew Taxus cuspidata.

They are all tolerant of salt spray and saline soils. You will have to see which are suitable for your growing zone.
