I have several Sago Palms that are about 5 years old and in clay pots. At times the fronds start to turn yellow (blotches). Does anyone know what could be causing the problem and how to correct it? Some people have told me it has to do with salts build-up and others have told my they need fertilizer. Our water tends to be pretty alkaline.

    Hi Pawdancer,

    From this site:
    http://www.rhapisgardens.com/sagos/

"OLD LEAVES MAY TURN YELLOW from over watering or too much fertilizer.

NEW LEAVES MAY TURN YELLOW from excess fertilizer or poor soil conditions.

Note: Once leaves turn yellow or brown, they should be removed from the plant."

Here is another other link, but I think the site is down because of hurricane Frances. Give it a try in a couple of days.
