I just planted two 20 ft. royal palms 3 weeks ago. they both have developed a soft spot under one of the stakes. All of the stakes have cloth around them to protect the trunk, but both trees have developed these spots. They are about 6 inches wide and 6 feet high. stating from the ground up. the trunks have also started to crack within the soft area..... any ideas?????
any chance you can post a pic? you may have to loosen these said stakes? are they to stabalize the palm?
