I want to plant a Rose of Sharon, and to be sure it will stay evergreen. The site is in zone 9, and I already have a mature Rose of Sharon tree/bush about 3m height that stays evergreen, and is at this moment magnificently covered with blossom.

I prefer the whiter or pinker blossom. Can you suggest a variety, and the planting time, together with planting and siting guidance? When to feed, and with what? The proposed site faces west, and is not exposed much other than to the west.

What soil type is best for this?

    Thankyou

    Hibiscus syriacus is always deciduous.

Why does my bush not drop its leaves then? I read that this can happen dependent on the site and zone. I have had it for many yeas, and there is no fall in the autumn, just new leaves appearing each year.
