2 days ago my mother-in-law gave me some pods (dont know what else to call them) off her rose of sharon. she said "here, plant these".
are there seeds in there? do i plant them like that are? do i open them and dry them out?
I have no clue what to do with these.
    Can someone help me?

yes, you'll need to take the seeds out of the pods and let them dry. start them inside in late winter and when they're large enough and the weather is warm enough (late spring next year), plant them outside.

so as long as i succeed with these seeds i can just continue to grow inside until next spring?
I just want to make sure of this because I'm in northern Michigan and its just about our fall planting season here and I dont want to be putting anything in ground that doesnt belong at this time.
thank you very much for your help and your time. :-)
