My newly planted dwarf blue spruce was recently run over by a truck driven by a dog.
The roots had about 2 months of good rainy whether to develope and the dogs owner says he'll replace the tree if it dies. I want to know, what can I do to help a damaged root system? Only half the roots were torn up and I was able to stand the tree up and pack the soil down to keep it upright. Thank you for any insight.

Just let it be, there's nothing you can do, but don't overwater as some kind of compensation.

Geez, usually dogs just pee on conifers to kill them.

I'd agree there's not much you can do beyond tucking it all back into the dirt. If it is in full sun you might consider setting up some temporary shade on the hottest days. And yes, don't overwater.

If it's not wilted it should continue on OK. Was it an automatic or did the dog actually know how to work a stick shift?

Thank you both for the reply. It was an automatic and I think the dog may have peed when he realized the car was moving sans master. I bought a spray to keep the moisture in. What a nice community. I appreciate your speedy answers. Hope I can help someone out there. Happy Independence Day.
